Did you know that there are many Christians today who will not make it into heaven? As shocking as this may sound, it is true. Many Christians believe they are living a life that is pleasing to God just because they have been faithful in their works, always attending church, they testify about God’s greatness, have won over many unsaved to Christ, have never stolen anything in their lives and always trying to make peace with their neighbors. Well, I am here to tell you that we do here on earth will not be the only criteria for determining our place in heaven. What do I mean? For example, Jack was blessed financially and wanted to help others as much as he could. Jack is a Christian and knew that God would have wanted him to give to others who are in need. Initially he did his best because he desperately wanted to please God.
Jack however became popular in his neighborhood for his kindheartedness and was praised by many.This started to fuel his passion for giving and had resulted in him losing sight of his purpose.
So what is the point behind this? God wants us to deny ourselves when we work for him. God had given Jack a prosperous life so that he could help the poor, but he became consumed by the popularity he had received from it. When we give to others, we should never seek to do it in order to make a name for ourselves. This will result in us working in vain.

In another example, at short testimony session at church, Phillip decided to give his testimony of what God has done in his life. Everybody was ministered to by his testimony, but Phillip testified only to clear his conscience as he knew that he would had felt guilty after listening to all the other testimonies and he had kept silent. So what is the big deal? Phillip had only testified to soothe his own conscience instead of sincerely telling others how he felt about God’s amazing power. God ignores worship that is not from a pure heart.
To make it into heaven, we have to totally deny self and seek God’s Kingdom first. If we make this our main priority on a daily basis, then we would be on our way to see God’s face. Christian living is not an easy task as we are given strict guidelines to live by. Making it to hell is so easy, it requires you to do almost nothing but just live your life to the fullest. The devil and his workers are after Christians and not the unsaved for they are already lost. The devil already knows how amazing heaven is and he is furious because he will never have a place there again. This is the reason why he hates Christians. He will do anything in his power to prevent us from making it to heaven so we need to be on the alert.
The devil cannot attack without us knowing because the Spirit of God fights for us and the devil dares not challenge it, but he instead attacks us through our own will. God has given us the ability to make our own choices and therefore will not interfere with our decisions to accept him or not.
Even though we are far outnumbered, we have the word of God as our only weapon. Both the word of God and the Spirit of God combined, produces a weapon that is far superior to any weapon of the devil.
